ABOUT ME

I'm a 27 year old male (2019 update: I'm 34... dang) who recently took a huge decision to move to Japan for one year and teach english. I have no background in teaching or even doing something this crazy.

I was terrified to backpack through asia on my own in 2011 but I now look back at it as one of the most amazing things I've done. I like to meet fellow travelers and people who have an interesting story to tell!

I love taking photos so please be okay with me taking your photo too!

PHILOSOPHY

I'm really care free and laid back. I love sharing a laugh, a drink, a coffee, a joke, a movie, a meal or whatever with someone.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I signed up to CS in mid 2011 when I was about to leave on a 4 month backpacking adventure through Japan and Korea. I ended up using this website more than I thought and met so many wonderful people! In total I stayed with about 9 different hosts and had a great time with every single one!

I'm now paying it forward by returning the favor now that I have my own place.

*2019 update* I haven't used CS in about 5 years, but I'm back again as I miss this community and the friends I made from here.

See above. Over 9 different surfs and now I'm hosting for the first time.

Interests

I'm a keen photographer and I think it's the strongest ammunition I have to commit to a trip solo. I own 9 different cameras so I hope it doesn't frighten you if I were to put 3 or 4 out on a table over coffee.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacked through Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Indonesia in late 2011. Now I've moved to Japan on my own.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a pretty good photographer so I can teach you things in regards to that.

I'm really good at Photoshop, Lightroom and Photography and will gladly give you tips or my opinion on anything to do with that. I guess that ain't very appealing, but whatevs.

I touch type like I'm in the minority report but I've never tried teaching that skill to anyone.
